Consistent truncation of eleven-dimensional supergravity on S 8 × S 1

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Eleven-dimensional supergravity on S 8 × S 1 is conjectured to be dual to the M-theory matrix model. We prove that the dynamics of a subset of fluctuations around this background is consistently described by D = 2 SO(9) gauged maximal supergravity.

Off-shell no-go theorems for higher dimensional supersymmetries and supergravities

open access: closedPhysics Letters B, 1983
Abstract By a simple fermion counting argument we show in which space-time dimensions the existence of off-shell supersymmetric Yang-Mills and supergravity theories with an off-shell supersymmetry algebra without “central charges” are allowed. In particular we show that the maximally extended theories require “central charges” or lose explicit ...

Dual versions of higher-dimensional supergravities and anomaly cancellations in lower dimensions

open access: closedNuclear Physics B, 1986
Abstract Supergravity theories with higher-rank tensors dual to the ordinary second-rank tensors (dual versions) are given in D = 8 and 6. The special role of higher-rank tensors in the dual versions for anomaly cancellations in lower even dimensions is studied by inspecting examples of D = 10, N = 1 dual version compactified to D = 6, and D

Electrodeposited Manganese Dioxides and Their Composites as Electrocatalysts for Energy Conversion Reactions. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
This review focuses on the electrochemical synthesis of MnO2 materials and their composites and their application as electrocatalysts for OER and HER reactions for the conversion of renewable energy into chemical fuels. The electrocatalytic function of electrodeposited MnO2 for ORR and bifunctional ORR/OER for efficient operation of fuel cells and ...

Boundary terms and conserved charges in higher-derivative gauged supergravity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We address some issues in higher-derivative gauged supergravity with Chern-Simons terms, focusing on the five-dimensional case. We discuss the variational problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions as well as holographic renormalization in asymptotically

Consistent truncations in higher derivative supergravity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We consider the torus reduction of heterotic supergravity in the presence of four-derivative corrections. In particular, the reduction on Tn generically leads to a half-maximal supergravity coupled to n vector multiplets, and we show that it is ...

Cubic and higher-order supergravity couplings for AdS vacua using Exceptional Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We show how to use Exceptional Field Theory to efficiently compute n-point couplings of all Kaluza-Klein modes for vacua that can be uplifted from maximal gauged supergravities to 10/11 dimensions via a consistent truncation.

Supergravities on branes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Supergravity brane solutions allow for a generalised type of Kaluza-Klein reduction onto brane worldvolumes. The known replacement of a flat worldvolume metric by a Ricci-flat metric constitutes a consistent Kaluza-Klein truncation of the starting higher-
