Wrapped M5-branes and complex saddle points

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We study the effects of the introduction of a ϑ term in minimal gauged supergravity in four dimensions. We show why this term is not present in supergravity duals of field theories arising on wrapped M2-branes, but is there in the case of M5-branes ...

N=2 Chiral Supergravity in (10 + 2)-Dimensions As Consistent Background for Super (2 + 2)-Brane [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett. B437 (1998) 303-314, 1997
We present a theory of N=2 chiral supergravity in (10+2)-dimensions. This formulation is similar to N=1 supergravity presented recently using null-vectors in 12D. In order to see the consistency of this theory, we perform a simple dimensional reduction to ten-dimensions, reproducing the type IIB chiral supergravity.

AdS_3, Black Holes and Higher Derivative Corrections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Using AdS/CFT correspondence and the Euclidean action formalism for black hole entropy Kraus and Larsen have argued that the entropy of a BTZ black hole in three dimensional supergravity with (0,4) supersymmetry does not receive any correction from ...

Unified non-metric (1, 0) tensor-Einstein supergravity theories and (4, 0) supergravity in six dimensions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The ultrashort unitary (4, 0) supermultiplet of 6d superconformal algebra OSp(8∗|8) reduces to the CPT-self conjugate supermultiplet of 4d superconformal algebra SU(2, 2|8) that represents the fields of maximal N = 8 supergravity. The graviton in the (4,

Extremal Black Holes in Supergravity and the Bekenstein-Hawking Entropy [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy 4:65-127,2002, 2002
We review some results on the connection among supergravity central charges, BPS states and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. In particular, N=2 supergravity in four dimensions is studied in detail. For higher N supergravities we just give an account of the general theory specializing the discussion to the N=8 case when one half of supersymmetry is preserved.

Euclidean supergravity and multi-centered solutions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
In ungauged supergravity theories, the no-force condition for BPS states implies the existence of stable static multi-centered solutions. The first solutions to Einstein–Maxwell theory with a positive cosmological constant describing an arbitrary number ...

On duality symmetries of supergravity invariants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The role of duality symmetries in the construction of counterterms for maximal supergravity theories is discussed in a field-theoretic context from different points of view. These are: dimensional reduction, the question of whether appropriate superspace

Marginal Deformations of Vacua with Massive boson-fermion Degeneracy Symmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Two-dimensional string vacua with Massive Spectrum boson-fermion Degeneracy Symmetry (MSDS) are explicitly constructed in Type II and Heterotic superstring theories.

Towards Massless Higher Spin Extension of D=5, N=8 Gauged Supergravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The AdS_5 superalgebra PSU(2,2|4) has an infinite dimensional extension, which we denote by hs(2,2|4). We show that the gauging of hs(2,2|4) gives rise to a spectrum of physical massless fields which coincides with the symmetric tensor product of two ...

Higher-dimensional symmetry of AdS2×S2 correlators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
It was recently shown that IIB supergravity on AdS5×S5 enjoys 10d conformal symmetry and that superstring theory on this background can be described using a 10d scalar effective field theory.
