Species Scale and Primordial Gravitational Waves
Abstract The species scale is a field‐dependent UV cut‐off for any effective field theory weakly coupled to gravity. In this letter, it is shown that in the context of inflationary cosmology, a detection of primordial gravitational waves will set an upper bound on the decay rate |Λs′/Λs|$|\Lambda ^{\prime }_s/\Lambda _s|$ of the species scale ...

Abstract The diffeomorphism class of simply connected smooth Calabi‐Yau threefolds with torsion‐free cohomology is determined via certain basic topological invariants: the Hodge numbers, the triple intersection form, and the second Chern class.

Exploring T‐Duality for Self‐Dual Fields
Abstract Avatars of T‐duality within Sen's formalism for self‐dual field strengths in various dimensions are studied. This formalism is shown to naturally accommodate the T‐duality relation between Type IIA/IIB theories when compactified on a circle without the need for imposing the self‐duality constraint by hand, as is usually done. The study of this

Exceptional symmetries in light-cone superspace
We construct maximal supergravity in five-dimensions by ‘oxidizing’ the four-dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 8 theory. The relevant symmetries, the unitary symplectic group USp(8) and the exceptional group E 6, are both presented in light-cone ...

Warped AdS6 × S 2 in Type IIB supergravity II: global solutions and five-brane webs
Motivated by the construction of holographic duals to five-dimensional superconformal quantum field theories, we obtain global solutions to Type IIB supergravity invariant under the superalgebra F (4) on a space-time of the form AdS6 × S 2 warped over a ...

Different ways of representing the group SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ within a Geometric Algebra approach are explored. As part of this, we consider characteristic multivectors for SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ and how these are linked with decomposition of generators into commuting bivectors. The setting for this work is within a 6d Euclidean Clifford Algebra.

Heterotic M-theory from the clockwork perspective
Compactifications of heterotic M-theory are shown to provide solutions to the weak- and axion-scale hierarchy problems as a consequence of warped large extra dimensions.

Universal observables, SUSY RG-flows and holography
We construct and analyse infinite classes of regular supergravity backgrounds dual to four-dimensional superconformal field theories (SCFTs) compactified on a circle with a supersymmetry-preserving twist. These flows lead to three-dimensional gapped QFTs

We consider a four dimensional generalized Wess-Zumino model formulated in terms of an arbitrary Kähler potential KΦΦ¯ $$ \mathcal{K}\left(\varPhi, \overline{\varPhi}\right) $$ and an arbitrary chiral superpotential WΦ $$ \mathcal{W}\left(\varPhi \right)
