Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Exponential asymptotics and higher-order Stokes phenomenon in singularly perturbed ODEs [PDF]

open access: yes
The higher-order Stokes phenomenon can emerge in the asymptotic analysis of many problems governed by singular perturbations. Indeed, over the last two decades, the phenomenon has appeared in many physical applications, from acoustic and optical wave ...

The R Package metaLik for Likelihood Inference in Meta-Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2012
Meta-analysis is a statistical method for combining information from different studies about the same issue of interest. Meta-analysis is widely diffuse in medical investigation and more recently it received a growing interest also in social disciplines.

Asymptotic Periodicity of a Higher-Order Difference Equation [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2007
We give a complete picture regarding the asymptotic periodicity of positive solutions of the following difference equation:xn=f(xn−p1,…,xn−pk,xn−q1,…,xn−qm),n∈ℕ0, wherepi, i∈{1,…,k}, andqj, j∈{1,…,m}, are natural numbers such thatp1<p2<⋯<pk,q1<q2<⋯<qmandgcd(p1,…,pk,q1,…,qm)=1, the functionf∈C[(0,∞)k+m,(α,∞)], α>0, is increasing in ...

Asymptotic Expansions for Higher-Order Scalar Difference Equations [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2007
An asymptotic expansion of the solutions of higher-order Poincaré difference equation in terms of the characteristic solutions of the limiting equation is given. As a consequence, an asymptotic description of the solutions approaching a hyperbolic equilibrium of a higher-order nonlinear difference equation with sufficiently smooth nonlinearity is ...

A Generative Neuro‐Symbolic AI for Protein Sequence Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce EffieDes, a neuro‐symbolic framework coupling deep learning‐based fitness landscape parameterization with exact automated reasoning. Unlike greedy sampling, EffieDes identifies sequences that globally optimize fitness while satisfying intricate design constraints.

Topology‐Enabled Finite‐Band Absorption Framework Based on a Bioinspired Nested Dual‐Loop Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nuclear‐pore‐inspired nested dual‐loop architecture redistributes electromagnetic energy through coupled transport, confinement, and dissipation pathways. Integrated with Co/Fe3O4 dual‐magnetic composites and topology optimization, the 11‐mm‐thick absorber delivers continuous 2–40 GHz attenuation, raises finite‐band structural utilization to 82%, and

ACSL4‐Dependent Lysosomal Lipid Peroxidation Links WTAP‐Mediated m6A Modification to Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL‐1β upregulates the protein level of WTAP, which promotes the m6A modification of ACSL4 mRNA in an IGF2BP2‐dependent manner, thereby enhancing its stability. The increased ACSL4 drives lipid peroxidation, leading to lysosomal membrane permeabilization (LMP) and impaired mitophagy, which collectively accelerate intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD).

Asymptotics of the deformed higher order Airy-kernel determinants and applications

open access: yes, 2023
We study the one-parameter family of Fredholm determinants $\det(I-\rho^2\mathcal{K}_{n,x})$, $\rho\in\mathbb{R}$, where $\mathcal{K}_{n,x}$ stands for the integral operator acting on $L^2(x,+\infty)$ with the higher order Airy kernel.

Tau Aggregate Imaging and Transcriptomics of Alzheimer's Disease Brain at Different Stages of Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The protein aggregates and gene expression in the middle temporal gyrus (MTG) and somatosensory cortex (SOM) of the postmortem brains of 13 Alzheimer's disease patients were studied in detail, revealing that small hyperphosphorylated tau aggregates increase with Braak stage driven by microglial inflammation.
