Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

Cracking the Code: Which Ocular Symptoms Predict Dry Eye Signs? Insights From a Large International Sicca Registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The study aimed to identify symptom‐based predictors of dry eye disease (DED) signs in the Sjögren's International Collaborative Clinical Alliance (SICCA) cohort. Methods We performed a retrospective analysis examining 16 ocular symptoms (most graded 0–4) and artificial tear (AT) use (graded 0–3) as predictors of DED signs (abnormal ocular ...

Seismic fragility analysis of long-span rigid-frame bridge on mountainous soft clay site

open access: yesAdvances in Bridge Engineering
In order to assess the damage condition of bridge components for a large-span rigid bridge in a soft clay site in a mountainous area in China southwest, a finite element model of a large-span rigid bridge is established based on the OpenSees software ...

The entropy rate of Linear Additive Markov Processes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
This work derives a theoretical value for the entropy of a Linear Additive Markov Process (LAMP), an expressive but simple model able to generate sequences with a given autocorrelation structure. Our research establishes that the theoretical entropy rate

The Lupus Damage Index Revision Program: Results From the Item Generation and Reduction Phases

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A data‐driven and expert/patient consensus‐based project to develop a revised Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Damage Index (SDI) is under way supported by SLICC, ACR, and the Lupus Foundation of America. Our objective is to report the item generation and reduction phase results

A New Weibull–Rayleigh Distribution: Characterization, Estimation Methods, and Applications with Change Point Analysis

open access: yesAxioms
Many scholars are interested in modeling complex data in an effort to create novel probability distributions. This article proposes a novel class of distributions based on the inverse of the exponentiated Weibull hazard rate function. A particular member

Impact of Six‐Month Monitoring Compared to Three‐Month Monitoring of Laboratories During Methotrexate Therapy

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate whether extending the American College of Rheumatology–recommended monitoring interval for complete blood count and liver function tests in patients receiving methotrexate (MTX) affects timely detection of medication‐related toxicity.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

A New Hybrid Mass‐Flux/High‐Order Turbulence Closure for Ocean Vertical Mixing

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems
While various parameterizations of vertical turbulent fluxes at different levels of complexity have been proposed, each has its own limitations. For example, simple first‐order closure schemes such as the K‐Profile Parameterization (KPP) lack energetic ...
