Sludge char-to-fuel approaches based on the hydrothermal fueling IV: fermentation
Sewage sludge was subjected to hydrothermal fueling (HTF) (330 °C for 40 min), obtaining hydrochar at 13.5 MJ kg−1. The higher heating value (HHV) of the raw sludge was related to its fatty acid content.

Parametric study on the heating values of products as via steam gasification of palm waste using CaO as sorbent material [PDF]
In Malaysia, due to abundance of oil palm waste, it is a good candidate to be used as a feedstock for syngas and hydrogen production. Biomass steam gasification is one of the promising methods for syngas production.
