HIGHER-SPIN SYMMETRY IN ONE AND TWO DIMENSIONS (I)

Modern Physics Letters A, 1989
Higher spin theories in one and two dimensions are considered. The analysis of the ghost sector is carried out and a possible analogy with the ghost sector of the superparticle and the Green-Schwarz superstring in the covariant gauge is discussed.

Gauging Higher-Spin-Like Symmetries Using the Moyal Product

2022
Well established approaches to gauging U(1) transformations or spacetime translations lead to theories of interacting bosons of spin 1 or spin 2. We describe a novel approach to gauging their higher derivative generalizations (i.e. higher-spin-like symmetries), leading to a Yang-Mills like theory defined over a symplectic manifold dubbed “master space”.

HIGHER SPIN SYMMETRY AND SU(2) WZNW MODEL

Modern Physics Letters A, 1994
Generators of an infinite number of conserved charges of the integrable SU(2) WZNW model are identified with the generators of a W1+∞ symmetry algebra. This integrable conformal field theory also describes the ZN symmetric Ising model at the critical point in the large-N limit.

Higher-spin symmetries of the massless (super)particle

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 1991
The full symmetry group of the free massless (super)particle is studied, for spacetime dimensions \(d=2\), 3, 4 and 6, using (super)twistor methods. The corresponding infinite-rank algebra contains an infinite sum of irreducible representations of the conformal group.

Mass splitting in spin-unitary spin higher symmetry schemes

Nuclear Physics, 1966
Abstract A method of allowing mass splitting in U (12) or U (8) multiplets is suggested. Instead of breaking these groups by requiring the invariance of generalized Bargmann-Wigner equations, we break the symmetry by first decomposing the representations with respect to the U (3) × S p (4) or U (2) × S p (4 ...

Consequences ofU-spin for several higher symmetries

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1964
TheU-spin is defined for the higher-symmetry models based on theG2 andC2 algebras. Some relations concerning the masses and electromagnetic properties of the particles are derived and compared with the experimental situation. TheG2 model is found to be in contradiction with experiment especially for electromagnetic processes.
