Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Cu-CHA material efficient in the SCR process in the presence of water and CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A reproducible method for the synthesis of SCR active Cu-CHA materials has been developed, which allows the incorporation of up to 4% of copper inside the cavities of the zeolite.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Rosuvastatina e ciprofibrato no tratamento da dislipidemia em pacientes com HIV Rosuvastatin and ciprofibrate in the treatment of dyslipidemia in patients with HIV

Recent Advance in Heterocyclic Organozinc and Organomanganese Compounds; Direct Synthetic Routes and Application in Organic Synthesis

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
A practical synthetic route for the preparation of 2-pyridyl and 3-pyridyl derivatives has been accomplished by utilizing a simple coupling reaction of stable 2-pyridylzinc bromides and 3-pyridylzinc bromides.

Compact and highly active next-generation libraries for CRISPR-mediated gene repression and activation

open access: yeseLife, 2016
We recently found that nucleosomes directly block access of CRISPR/Cas9 to DNA (Horlbeck et al., 2016). Here, we build on this observation with a comprehensive algorithm that incorporates chromatin, position, and sequence features to accurately predict ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Avalanche Dynamics for Active Matter in Heterogeneous Media

open access: yes, 2017
Using numerical simulations, we examine the dynamics of active matter run-and-tumble disks moving in a disordered array of obstacles. As a function of increasing active disk density and activity, we find a transition from a completely clogged state to a ...
