Driver Behavior Modeling with Subjective Risk‐Driven Inverse Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A subjective risk‐driven inverse reinforcement learning framework is proposed to model driver decision‐making. It infers drivers' risk perception and risk tolerance from driving data. A learnable risk threshold is used to regulate decisions, enabling interpretable and human‐like driving behavior decisions.

Optimization of hemolysis, icterus and lipemia interference thresholds for 35 clinical chemistry assays

open access: yesPractical Laboratory Medicine, 2021
Objectives: Interference of chemistry assays by hemolysis, icterus and lipemia (HIL) was investigated on the Abbott Alinity c system. We sought to empirically establish optimized HIL index thresholds for the purposes of reporting HIL interference in a ...

Humanized immune system animal models and their recent applications

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In this review, we provide an updated and comprehensive overview of the current state of humanized immune system animal model research. We discuss the variety of techniques used to produce humanized mice with their respective strengths and weaknesses, and evaluate the advantages and limitations of these models, including issues with incomplete immune ...

Disposition of two names in Almeidea (Rutaceae) Disposição de dois nomes em Almeidea (Rutaceae)

open access: yesActa Botânica Brasílica, 2010
Examination of type specimens at the P herbarium showed that Almeidea longifolia A. St.-Hil. (Rutaceae) is an illegitimate substitute name for A. affinis A. St.-Hil. The latter name is proposed here as a heterotypic synonym of A. rubra A.

Recent advances in the construction of humanized animal models and applications in translational medicine

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Substantial advances have been achieved in the development of humanized mouse models, which have proven highly valuable in evaluating cancer immunotherapies and elucidating the mechanisms of infectious diseases. There is now a growing shift in research toward larger animal models—such as pigs—that offer greater physiological similarity to humans ...

Crystal structure of human interleukin-2 in complex with TCB2, a new antibody-drug candidate with antitumor activity

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2021
Immunotherapy via interleukin-2 (IL-2) mediated activation of anti-tumor immune response is a promising approach for cancer treatment. The multi-potent cytokine, IL-2 has a central role in immune cell activation and homeostasis. Since IL-2 preferentially

A Multifaceted Interplay Among Hemophagocytosis, Interleukin‐18, and Type I Interferon Distinguishes Still Disease From Other Autoinflammatory Diseases

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective The unknown pathophysiology and the lack of specific features for systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and adult‐onset Still disease (collectively known as Still disease; SD) delay diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The goal of this study was to identify features and mechanisms that distinguish SD from other systemic autoinflammatory ...

Comparison of Tissue Preparations to Identify and Phenotype T Cells in Human Colorectal Tumor Tissue

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Archived patient samples (e.g., formalin‐fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue blocks, cryoembedded tissue blocks, and frozen whole tissue samples) are a source of immune information for which corresponding patient data is often collected.
