Dual‐Role GH7 Family Proteins From Verticillium dahliae Function as Virulence Factors and Intracellular Effectors Triggering NLR‐Mediated Immunity

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 1491-1504, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Cell wall–degrading enzymes are viewed as extracellular virulence factors. However, their potential to act as immune elicitors and interact with intracellular immune receptors remains poorly defined. Here, we demonstrate that six conserved glycoside hydrolase 7 (GH7) family proteins from the fungal pathogen Verticillium dahliae have dual roles

Integrated scFv identification and CAR T cell generation for AML targeting in vivo

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 4, Page 994-1007, 15 February 2026.
What's new? Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a rapidly progressing blood cancer. Advancing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies, particularly through rapid translation of single chain variable fragment (scFv) discovery into CAR constructs, may improve clinical outcomes, especially the development of patient individualized CAR T cells.

Allelic Variation in Maize Malate Dehydrogenase 7 Shapes Promoter Methylation and Banded Leaf and Sheath Blight Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
In this study maize chloroplastic malate dehydrogenase7 (ZmMDH7), is identified as a Rhizoctonia solani resistance gene in maize. ZmMDH7 is regulated by transcription factor ZmWRKY44 via pathogens challenge to elevate mitochondrial ROS and SA signaling pathway.

BvrR From Brucella abortus Induces Neuroinflammation Through IRE1‐Mediated Activation of ATF2 and NF‐κB

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
This study demonstrates that the BvrR induces neuroinflammation. In microglial cells, BvrR expression localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), causing ER expansion and activating the stress sensor IRE1. Phosphorylated IRE1 subsequently drives the activation and nuclear translocation of transcription factors ATF2 and NF‐κB p65.

Expression of Sindbis virus structural proteins via recombinant vaccinia virus: synthesis, processing, and incorporation into mature Sindbis virions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
We have obtained a vaccinia virus recombinant which contains a complete cDNA copy of the 26S RNA of Sindbis virus within the thymidine kinase gene of the vaccinia virus genome.

Mutations in Components of the TREX‐2 Complex Result in Misexpression of the Kelch‐Domain F‐Box Protein KFB39 Promoter in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 10, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Arabidopsis thaliana gene At2g44130 encodes a Kelch‐like domain F‐box protein designated KFB39 and was previously shown to be specifically expressed on exposure to the oxylipin cis‐jasmone. In order to better understand the regulation of At2g44130, a forward genetic screen was carried out to identify mutants in which a promoter‐GUS fusion was ...

β-globin haplotypes in normal and hemoglobinopathic individuals from Reconcavo Baiano, State of Bahia, Brazil

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2010
Five restriction site polymorphisms in the β-globin gene cluster (HincII-5'ε, HindIII-Gγ, HindIII-ªγ, HincII-'ψβ1 and HincII-3''ψβ1) were analyzed in three populations (n = 114) from Reconcavo Baiano, State of Bahia, Brazil. The groups included two urban
