The Lipoprotein Lipase HindIII Polymorphism And The Susceptibility To Hypertension
The FASEB Journal, 2008Backgroung: Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) enzyme plays a central role in lipid metabolism. The primary function of LPL enzyme is the hydrolysis of the core triglycerides of circulating chylomicron and very low density lipoprotein. It releases monoglycerides and free fatty acids, which are taken up by skeletal muscle or adipose tissue. Aim:

Chromosomal and nuclear distribution of the HindIII 1.9-kb human DNA repeat segment
Chromosoma, 1984A human interspersed repetitive DNA cloned in pBR322, the HindIII 1.9-kb (kilobase pair) sequence, was labeled with biotinylated dUTP and hybridized to acid-fixed chromosomes and paraformaldehyde-fixed whole cells in situ. Using our most sensitive detection techniques this probe highlighted on the order of 200 discrete loci, in punctate or banded ...

Nucleotide sequence analysis of variola virus HindIII M, L, I genome fragments
Virus Research, 1993DNA of the variola major virus strain India-1967 in the region of HindIII M, L, I fragments has been sequenced. Analysis of this sequence of 18029 bp revealed 19 potential open reading frames (ORFs). Four proposed proteins (L2R, H9R, L5L, L6R) contain metal-binding domains. Comparison of the variola virus (VAR) and vaccinia virus strain Copenhagen (COP)

The nucleotide sequence of the region between map positions 4.5 (HpaI-site) and 8.0 (HindIII-site) of adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) DNA has been determined. This stretch of DNA is part of the transforming HindIII-G fragment, which is 2809 nucleotides long. The sequenced segment was found to have a long open reading frame for protein biosynthesis, starting 23

An interleukin-8 (IL-8) cDNA clone identifies a frequent HindIII polymorphism
Human Genetics, 1993An interleukin-8 cDNA probe detects a biallelic HindIII polymorphism. This frequent restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) provides a new genetic marker for the long arm of chromosome 4.

Two forms of restriction enzyme HindIII.
Journal of biochemistry, 1995Restriction endonuclease HindIII was purified from Haemophilus influenzae Rd. Two active fractions, P1 and P2, were obtained in phosphocellulose chromatography. HindIII could be purified completely from the first fraction, P1, by subsequent DEAE-cellulose chromatography. The second fraction, P2, showed HindIII activity higher than that of P1, though it

[HindIII polymorphism of lipoprotein lipase gene and risk of myocardial infarction].
Molekuliarnaia genetika, mikrobiologiia i virusologiia, 2001The purpose of this study was to determine whether HindIII restriction polymorphism found in intron 8 of lipoprotein lipase gene is associated with the onset of myocardial infarction (MI) in Russians and Tartars living in Bashkortostan. HindIII polymorphism was investigated by the polymerase chain reaction in myocardial infarction survivors (males aged

[Isolation of a restriction endonuclease with HindIII-specificity from Bordetella bronchiseptica].
Molekuliarnaia genetika, mikrobiologiia i virusologiia, 1987Site-specific restriction endonuclease BbrI has been found in bacteriophage resistant strain B. bronchioseptica 4994. The technique was elaborated for purification of BbrI to the stage free of nuclease and phosphatase contamination. The yield of purified enzyme is 6000-20 000 units per 10 g of biomass.
