Sphingomonas paucimobilis‐Driven Epithelial–Endothelial Transition in Adenomyosis Pathogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies epithelial–endothelial transition (EET) as a novel adenomyosis pathogenic mechanism driven by Sphingomonas paucimobilis colonization. Systematic inhibitor experiments validate a TNFα→NF‐κB→MMP signaling cascade essential for EET. Critically, bacterial culture supernatant fails to induce pathological changes, demonstrating viable ...

The use of dual mobility acetabular cups in total hip replacement reduces dislocation rates in hip dysplasia patients

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Total hip replacement arthroplasty (THA) in hip dysplasia patients has a higher dislocation rate than in patients with simple hip osteoarthritis due to anatomical deformation.

Mechanical Overloading‐Induced Nanomineral Crystal Perturbation from the Osteochondral Interface: A Potential Initiator of Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

X-ray, anatomical and biomechanical features in patients with developmental hip dislocation [PDF]

open access: yesСаратовский научно-медицинский журнал, 2014
The Pupose: to analyze X-ray, anatomical and biomechanical features in patients with developmental hip dislocation. Material and Methods. The study included 73 patients (57 women and 16 men) with the developmental hip dislocation at the age of 31 to 76 ...

Aptamer‐Engineered Liposomal Platform Enables in Situ cDC1 Vaccination to Potentiate Immunotherapy in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.

Deformation‐Induced Formation of Stray Grains in Additive Manufacturing of Single Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stray grain formation severely limits the additive manufacturing of single‐crystal alloys. By integrating in situ synchrotron techniques, ex situ characterization, and multi‐scale multi‐physics modeling, the authors reveal that stray grains originate from dislocations at the solid‐liquid interface, rather than thermal supercooling in conventional ...

Case Report: Traumatic obturator hip dislocation with subtrochanteric fracture in an 8-year-old child

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
BackgroundObturator-type hip dislocation is a rare condition in pediatric patients, with the simultaneous occurrence of an ipsilateral subtrochanteric femoral fracture being exceptionally uncommon.

Are Hip Precautions Necessary Post Total Hip Arthroplasty? A Systematic Review

open access: yesGeriatric Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation, 2015
Purpose: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a common and effective treatment of hip osteoarthritis. Activity restrictions known as hip precautions are widely practiced in rehabilitation post THA, aiming to foster healing and prevent hip dislocation.

Alzheimer's Disease Risk Factor APOE4 Exerts Dimorphic Effects on Female Bone

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In aging bone, osteocytes accumulate neurodegenerative risk factor Apolipoprotein E (APOE). A humanized version of the Alzheimer's disease risk allele APOE4 altered the mouse bone transcriptome and proteome, with effects in female bone surpassing the brain, including bone fragility due to suppressed osteocytic maintenance of bone quality, identifying ...

Surgical versus non-surgical interventions for treating patellar dislocation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Patellar dislocation occurs when the patella disengages completely from the trochlear (femoral) groove. Following reduction of the dislocation, conservative (non-surgical) rehabilitation with physiotherapy may be used.
