Neuronal synapse formation induced by microglia and interleukin 10. [PDF]
Recently, it was found that microglia regulated synaptic remodeling of the developing brain, but their mechanisms have not been well understood. In this study, the action of microglia on neuronal synapse formation was investigated, and the primary target

Mnemonic networks in the hippocampal formation: from spatial maps to temporal and conceptual codes.
The hippocampal formation has been associated with a wide variety of functions including spatial navigation and planning, memory encoding and retrieval, relational processing, novelty detection, and imagination. These functions are dissimilar in terms of

Neurogenesis in the neonatal rat hippocampus is regulated by sexually dimorphic epigenetic modifiers
Highlights Neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus peaks in the early postnatal period and in the laboratory rat is significantly greater in males than females. Here we report divergent regulation of cell genesis in the neonatal dentate gyrus.

Evidence of functional mossy fiber sprouting in hippocampal formation of kainic acid-treated rats
In the rat hippocampal formation, degeneration of CA4-derived afferent fibers provokes the growth of mossy fiber collaterals into the fascia dentata. These aberrant fibers subsequently form granule cell-granule cell synapses.

New Perspectives on Semiconducting Conjugated Oligomers for Neuromodulation in Hydra vulgaris
Semiconducting organic compounds, thiophene‐based, modify the rhythmic electrical activity of the cnidarian Hydra vulgaris acting on specific neuronal circuits. The ETE‐S trimer also forms electronically conducting wires in the living tissues of the animal.

Multimodal Platforms for Light‐Mediated Organic Bioelectronics
Optobioelectronic devices are paving the way for different types of interfacing with cells, in addition to classical electrical interfacing. Here, a future perspective for research in this field is discussed, in which different classes of light‐responsive materials are combined to create a highly dynamic interface that truly integrates with biological ...

Lecithin Alleviates Memory Deficits and Muscle Attenuation in Chinese Older Adults and SAMP8 Mice
This study opens a new avenue for safeguarding cognition and muscle health, averting disability in older age, and treating age‐related pathologies through lecithin supplementation. It serves as a promising nonpharmacological intervention for the crosstalk of muscle and cognition.
