Porphyromonas gingivalis outer membrane vesicles increase vascular permeability by inducing stress fiber formation and degrading vascular endothelial‐cadherin in endothelial cells

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 7, Page 1696-1709, April 2025.
Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), a periodontal bacterium implicated in systemic diseases, release outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). Here, we show that Pg OMVs induce stress fiber formation and degrade vascular endothelial cadherin (VEc) via lysosomes and endosomes in endothelial cells, leading to hyper‐permeability.

Stress exposure in the mdx mouse model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy provokes a widespread metabolic response

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
A targeted mass spectrometry‐based metabolomics assay was conducted to identify the impact of stress exposure on the regulation of biological stress pathways in the mdx mouse model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We demonstrated a broad shift in the circulating stress‐relevant plasma metabolome associated with stressful scruff handling that was ...

Protective effects of Paeonia suffruticosa callus extract in skin through anti‐inflammation and repair UVB‐induced damage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Peony callus extract (PCE) is beneficial for skin anti‐ageing and sensitivity induced by UVB radiation, through decreasing the level of inflammatory factors and matrix metalloproteinases. Furthermore, our research indicates that PCE effectively improves the total collagen content in human skin. Abstract Objective The study investigated effects of peony
