Lung Histological Methods

2018
The lung is ideally suited to the application of histological methods to study its structure, cellular composition, and molecular characteristics of more than 30 types of cells. The key in these endeavors are proper tissue preservation/fixation, well-established protocols aimed at sectioning and staining, and understanding of lung morphology. Molecular

Quantitative bone histology: A new method

Pathology, 1980
A method is described for quantitative histology of undecalcified bone using an embedding medium suitable for histochemistry. Six normal subjects were given tetracycline markers 24 and 3 d prior to the biopsy which was taken from the posterior iliac spine using an 8 gauge Jamshidi needle.

Histological methods for plant tissues

Journal of Histotechnology
Although many of the structures and organelles of vegetative cells are comparable to those of animal tissues, significant differences between the two kingdoms require modifications in histological techniques for both tissue processing steps and histochemical staining techniques.

Histological Staining Methods

1999
In this chapter we shall examine the development and application of histological methods at the tissue and system level of neural organisation. The principal techniques — fixation, dyeing, metal impregnation and histochemistry — have already been encountered in Chapter 1, where the emphasis was at the cytological level. The two chapters are intended to

New method for invertebrate nervous histology

Experientia, 1968

Staining Methods, Histologic and Histochemical

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1962
McManus and Mowry's text is an upto-date (1957-1958) laboratory book of methodology. More inclusive than Gomori, less technical than Pearse, and not too different in scope and size from Lillie, the stated objective is to provide a text for use in routine work and research by pathologists, histochemists, cytologists, and their technical assistants.
