Clinical management of endoscopically resected pT1 colorectal cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Implementation of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening programs increases endoscopic resection of polyps with early invasive CRC (pT1). Risk of lymph node metastasis often leads to additional surgery, but despite guidelines, correct management ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

PARTICULARITIES OF THE MANAGEMENT OF THE HISTOLOGY LABORATORY [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Craiova: Economic Sciences Series, 2019
The managerial process in the health field is an extremely complex one, because it presents besides the basic components of an organizational system and the human component: the patient.

Ecotoxicological consequences of heavy metals on emperor fish (lethrinus) species in the red sea: histopathology and biochemistry [PDF]

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi
Heavy metal (HMs) contamination in marine environments is a global concern, affecting fish health and seafood safety. This study examined the effects of HMs on 90 emperor fish from the Red Sea, focusing on metal levels in water and fish liver, blood ...

Primary biliary cirrhosis and hepatic sarcoidosis: A case report [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2014
Introduction. Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is an immunemediated chronic progressive inflammatory liver disease leading to destruction of small interlobular bile ducts. Sarcoidosis is a chronic disorder of unknown etiology characterized by non-

Voxel-wise comparisons of cellular microstructure and diffusion-MRI in mouse hippocampus using 3D Bridging of Optically-clear histology with Neuroimaging Data (3D-BOND) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A key challenge in medical imaging is determining a precise correspondence between image properties and tissue microstructure. This comparison is hindered by disparate scales and resolutions between medical imaging and histology.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the right upper leg: A case report [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2018
Introduction. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a fast spreading pleomorphic sarcoma with a high malignant potential. Its spreading is characterized with local invasion and distant metastazes with early onset. Most common localisations of development are

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
