Lysyl oxidases expression and histopathological changes of the diabetic rat nephron

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2017
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a major complication of diabetes, the accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) is considered an indication of nephropathological changes. Lysyl oxidases (LOXs) are also associated with ECM.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Using Histopathological Change as Bioindicator for Hydrocarbon Toxicity in Chick Embryo [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bioscience and Applied Research
Histopathology studies the microscopic alteration of cells in tissue organs of living beings. Because of their economic significance and ability to be used as a model to predict the sensitivity of wild bird species to chemical contamination, chickens ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Effects of Pasteurella multocida on Histopathology, miRNA and mRNA Expression Dynamics in Lung of Goats

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
Pasteurella multocida (Pm) infection causes severe respiratory disease in goats. We investigated the effects of the Pm infection intratracheally on the histopathology, miRNA and mRNA expression dynamics in the lung of goats infected for 1, 2, 5 and 7 ...

Histopathological changes in morphea and their clinical correlates: results from the Morphea in Adults and Children Cohort (MAC) V

open access: yesJournal of American Academy of Dermatology, 2017
Background Histopathological features in morphea (localized scleroderma) and their clinical correlates are poorly described. Objective We sought to systematically describe histologic changes of morphea in a large, well‐annotated cohort and determine the ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
