Anomalous Magnetization Dynamics After Dual Optical Excitation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that dual‐pump femtosecond excitation in copper leads to a pronounced, non‐additive change in spin and orbital relaxation dynamics compared to single‐pulse excitation. Time‐resolved magneto‐optical Kerr effect measurements reveal a 2.5× increase in angular momentum decay time, highlighting a new route to ultrafast control of electronic ...

Universal Entanglement and an Information‐Complete Quantum Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective summarize an informationcomplete quantum theory which describes a fully quantum world without any classical systems and concepts. Here spacetime/gravity, having to be a physical quantum system, universally entangles matter (matter fermions and their gauge fields) as an indivisible trinity, and encodes information‐complete physical ...

Confirmation of a Non‐Transiting Planet in the Habitable Zone of the Nearby M Dwarf L 98‐59

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Only 40 exoplanetary systems with five or more planets are currently known. These systems are crucial for our understanding of planet formation and planet‐planet interaction. The M dwarf L 98‐59 has previously been found to show evidence of five planets, three of which are transiting.

Commissioning an Inexpensive Off‐The‐Shelf Spectrograph for Radial‐Velocity Studies

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present a way to set up an inexpensive out of the shelf spectrograph at a local observatory. Stability and resolution of the spectrograph are high enough for radial velocity determination of binary stars or determination of stellar characteristics. Even some exoplanets might be detectable via the radial velocity method.

Discovery and Initial Investigation of a New Low Surface Brightness Planetary Nebula Candidate at High Galactic Latitude

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Planetary nebulae represent a late evolutionary phase of low‐ to intermediate‐mass stars. In this article, we present the serendipitous discovery of a previously unknown, faint potential Galactic planetary nebula (PN) in the constellation Camelopardalis, identified during a survey‐inspection, aiming at the detection of dwarf companions of the ...

The THESEUS Space Mission and the Infrared Telescope Calibration Unit

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Transient High‐Energy Sky and Early Universe Surveyor (THESEUS) is an ESA M7 mission concept currently in Phase A, designed to exploit gamma‐ray bursts to probe the early Universe while advancing multi‐messenger and time‐domain astrophysics. To achieve its ambitious goals, THESEUS will combine wide‐band x‐ray and gamma‐ray monitors with an

Reduction and Solid Electrolyte Interphase Formation Mechanism of Prop‐1‐ene‐1,3‐Sultone

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Layer‐forming additives stabilize Li‐ion cells, yet their mechanisms remain unclear. Using operando attenuated total reflection fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy, online electrochemical mass spectrometry, electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and ex situ X‐ray ...
