Human mobility amid emerging sedentism in the Central Zagros: laser ablation strontium isotope analysis at Early Neolithic Bestansur, Iraqi Kurdistan

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Archaeology
The Neolithic of Southwest Asia (c. 10,000–5,200 BCE) is associated with increasing residential stability alongside resource domestication processes. Yet, the trajectories of sedentism varied widely, with balances between sedentary and mobile behaviors ...

Rapid range expansion predicted for the Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) in the near future under climate change scenarios

open access: yesAvian Research, 2021
Background Climate change due to anthropogenic global warming is the most important factor that will affect future range distribution of species and will shape future biogeographic patterns.

Internet et le Grand Siècle : les recueils collectifs de poésie au regard du Web

open access: yesSillages Critiques, 2022
This article highlights existing but overlooked analogies between digital-age publications – on websites, blogs and social networks – and the multi-authored poetry collections that emerged and thrived in late seventeenth-century France.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Nomads and Vagabond Monks: From the Text to the Reader in 18th Century Inner Asia

open access: yesReligions, 2022
Buddhist Studies scholarship in general, and its (re)turn to the literary specifically, is overwhelmingly concerned with texts and authors. But what can this research into “Buddhist texts” and “Buddhist authors”, however robust, ever reliably tell us if ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Skill Profiles of College Students With a History of Developmental Language Disorder and Developmental Dyslexia

open access: yesJournal of Learning Disabilities, 2020
Developmental language disorder (DLD) and developmental dyslexia (DD) are two prevalent subtypes of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs; Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders [5th ed.; DSM-5]).

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Development of an Abbreviated Adult Reading History Questionnaire (ARHQ-Brief) Using a Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesJournal of Learning Disabilities, 2020
Several crucial reasons exist to determine whether an adult has had a reading disorder (RD) and to predict a child’s likelihood of developing RD. The Adult Reading History Questionnaire (ARHQ) is among the most commonly used self-reported questionnaires.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
