Explainable Deep Multilevel Attention Learning for Predicting Protein Carbonylation Sites
Selective carbonylation sites (SCANS) are conceptualized, designed, evaluated, and released. SCANS captures segment‐level, protein‐level, and residue embeddings features. It utilizes elaborate loss function to penalize cross‐predictions at the residue level.

Troubling Trends in Machine Learning Scholarship [PDF]
Collectively, machine learning (ML) researchers are engaged in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about data-driven algorithms. In a given paper, researchers might aspire to any subset of the following goals, among others: to theoretically characterize what is learnable, to obtain understanding through empirically rigorous experiments, or to ...

This study presents a novel approach for intraoperative identification of the IDH1 genotype in glioma patients using a surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe to measure glutathione and hydrogen peroxide. By integrating AI‐driven deep learning algorithms, the method achieves rapid and accurate genotype differentiation, offering the potential to ...

Uncovering Gender Bias in Media Coverage of Politicians with Machine Learning [PDF]
This paper presents research uncovering systematic gender bias in the representation of political leaders in the media, using artificial intelligence. Newspaper coverage of Irish ministers over a fifteen year period was gathered and analysed with natural language processing techniques and machine learning.

Herein, the development of a protective face mask based on a hierarchically porous cerium metal‐organic framework intensifying the bacterial entrapment ability and catalytic ROS generation at ambient condition is presented. It presents almost 100% antimicrobial efficacies for different bacteria even though in insufficient light (e.g.

Hempel's dilemma and the physics of computation [PDF]
Carl Gustav Hempel (1905-1997) formulated the dilemma that carries his name in an attempt to determine the boundaries of physics. Where does physics go over into metaphysics? The purpose of this contribution is to indicate how a recently developed field of research, the physics of computation, might offer a new answer to that old question: The boundary

Cation diffusion causes an increase in the catalytically active MIEC region in solid oxide cells. Simultaneously, it leads to the additional formation and growth of secondary structures in the electrolyte, which reduces the oxygen diffusion. Abstract High‐temperature solid oxide cells are highly efficient energy converters.
