Discovery of a Baloxavir‐Inspired Endonuclease Inhibitor That Prevents Herpes Simplex Virus 1 Replication in Cell Culture and In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current herpesvirus treatments targeting the viral DNA polymerase are limited by toxicities and drug resistance. Novel compounds inhibiting the nuclease activity of the herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV‐1) terminase complex, required for viral genome packaging, have been identified.

Analysis of genetic polymorphisms and drug resistance mutations in the NS5 region of HCV genome (Flasuviricetes: Amarillovirales: Flaviviridae: Hepacivirus C) in samples obtained in 2022–2023 from HIV-infected treatment-naive residents of Altai Krai

open access: yesВопросы вирусологии
Introduction. Altai Krai is a region with an unfavorable situation of HIV-1 and HCV infection, as well as HIV-1 and HCV coinfection. Due to this, it is necessary to study the HCV genetic variants and their drug resistance (DR) to direct-acting antivirals

A two-strain HIV-1 mathematical model to assess the effects of chemotherapy on disease parameters

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2005
Treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection during the symptomatic phase has significantly improved patient survival. We present a two-strain HIV mathematical model that captures the dynamics of the immune system and two HIV-1 ...

A new ensemble coevolution system for detecting HIV-1 protein coevolution

open access: yesBiology Direct, 2015
A key challenge in the field of HIV-1 protein evolution is the identification of coevolving amino acids at the molecular level. In the past decades, many sequence-based methods have been designed to detect position-specific coevolution within and between

Highly Efficient Air Sterilization via Low‐Temperature Interfacial Evaporation in Inductively Heated Superhydrophilic Ferromagnetic Filters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The first low‐temperature interfacial evaporation air sterilization technology is presented. It is based on a superhydrophilic ferromagnetic micro/nano‐structured stainless‐steel filter, showing ultra‐efficient inductive heating. This technology has demonstrated over 99.6% of SARS‐CoV‐2 and RSV elimination at temperatures in the 60–80 °C range.
