Tear IL-6 and IL-10 levels in HLA-B27-Associated Uveitis and Its clinical Implications

Ocular immunology and inflammation, 2020
Purpose: To evaluate the cytokine levels in tear samples of human leukocyte antigen B27 (HLA-B27)-associated uveitis. Methods: Twenty HLA-B27-associated uveitis patients and 10 non-HLA-B27 uveitis controls were enrolled for the estimation of interleukin ...

HLA B27 Antigens in Patients with Chronic Arthralgia

Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1989

Novel HY peptide antigens presented by HLA-B27.

The Journal of Immunology, 1997
Abstract We have identified two peptides corresponding to the male-specific HY minor histocompatibility Ags presented by HLA-B27 in transgenic rodents, isolated from whole cell extracts and from immunoprecipitated B27 molecules of male B27 rat spleen cells.

Microbial antigens mediate HLA-B27 diseases via TLRs

Journal of Autoimmunity, 2009
HLA-B27 positive individuals are predisposed to reactive arthritis developing 1-3 weeks after urogenital and gastrointestinal infections. Also ankylosing spondylitis (AS) associates strongly to HLA-B27, but no specific infection, Klebsiella pneumoniae excluded, has been linked to it.

T cell allorecognition and endogenous HLA‐B27‐bound peptides in a cell line with defective HLA‐B27‐restricted antigen presentation

European Journal of Immunology, 1994
AbstractThe B*2702+ lymphoblastoid cell line NW is unable to present at least some HLA‐B27‐restricted viral antigens to T cells. This defect was genetically inherited, and was suggested to be related to the nature of the HLA‐B27 binding peptides reaching the endoplasmic reticulum in these cells (Pazmany et al., J. Exp. Med. 1992. 175: 361).

AB0191 ERAP1, HLA-B27 and antigen presentation in ankylosing spondylitis [PDF]

open access: possibleAnnals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2012
Background Recent studies have shown that genetic variation within ERAP1, encoding endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1, is strongly associated with ankylosing spondylitis (AS)1. Within the endoplasmic reticulum, ERAP1 is involved in the trimming of peptides to the optimal length for their presentation by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class

HLA-B27 antigen and rheumatoid arthritis.

Acta medica Iugoslavica, 1991
The influence of HLA-B27 antigen on clinical, radiological and laboratory features of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was studied. The group with B27 antigen comprised: 4 males and 20 females aged 28 to 71 and a group of patients free from B27 antigen consisted of 2 males and 21 females aged 26 to 69.

Homozygosity of HLA-B27 antigen in the recipient and susceptibility to the corneal allograft reaction

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1984
Our series consists of six penetrating grafts to recipients who were carriers of homozygous HLA-B27 antigen. The donor cornea had only a single or, in one case, no HLA-B27 antigen and thus all presented with at least one incompatible HLA-B antigen to the recipient. Five of six grafts failed, four due to an allograft reaction; in one case corneal oedema

Primary structure of papain-solubilized human histocompatibility antigen HLA-B27

Biochemistry, 1985
The complete amino acid sequence of papain-solubilized HLA-B27, an antigen that presents a very strong association to the development of ankylosing spondylitis, has been determined. The overall sequence homology with the cross-reactive allelic products HLA-B7 and HLA-B40 (Bw60) is 93% and 92%, respectively.

Alteration of antigen-independent immunologic synapse formation between dendritic cells from HLA-B27-transgenic rats and CD4+ T cells: selective impairment of costimulatory molecule engagement by mature HLA-B27.

Arthritis & Rheumatism, 2007
OBJECTIVE To investigate the molecular mechanism responsible for the reduced capacity of dendritic cells (DCs) from HLA-B27-transgenic rats to form conjugates with naive T cells.
