Differentiation Syndrome and Sweet Syndrome‐Like Overlap Following Venetoclax–Azacytidine and G‐CSF Therapy

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Differentiation syndrome (DS) and Sweet syndrome (SS) are inflammatory complications mediated by cytokine dysregulation, classically associated with therapies that promote myeloid differentiation or cytokine release. While DS has been primarily linked to all‐trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and IDH inhibitors, recent evidence suggests that ...

Comparison of the effect of annealed glass and PET plastic on the Marshall properties of hot mix asphalt

open access: yesOpen Engineering
Incorporating several recycled materials can make an asphalt mixture sustainable, eco-friendly, and economical. In this investigation, annealed glass and PET with 2.36–1.18 mm were incorporated into the hot mix asphalt (HMA) using a dry process at ...

A real-world experience of venetoclax combined with hypomethylating agents vs. monotherapy hypomethylating agents in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
Introduction:Current clinical research has reported the effectiveness and safety of venetoclax in combination with hypomethylating agents (VEN-HMA) in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML).

Performance of Indiana's Superpave HMA Mixtures

open access: yes, 2011
This project followed the performance of a number of hot mix asphalt paving projects for seven to eight years in an attempt to relate laboratory test results to field performance. First, a small scale study compared sampling locations, specific gravity test procedures and compaction devices used on two samples from projects, one with volumetric ...

Cochlear Implantation in Autoimmune Inner‐Ear Disease: Outcome and Patient‐Reported Benefit

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that patients with secondary autoimmune inner‐ear disease (AIED) achieve significant improvements in speech perception and quality of life following cochlear implantation. Although AIED patients may show slightly lower performance in noisy environments compared to controls, their subjective hearing benefit converges with matched

Hypomethylating agents alone or in combination with venetoclax in very elderly acute myeloid leukemia patients: less treatment, better care?

open access: yesAnnals of Hematology
Hypomethylating agents (HMA) alone or in combination with venetoclax (VEN) are a mainstay for disease control in elderly acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We evaluated the non-inferiority of HMA monotherapy compared to HMA/VEN combination in 227 AML patients

Influence of Adding Cyclodextrin Derivatives on the Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Glassy Polymers

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Triacetylated γ‐cyclodextrin incorporated into poly(methyl methacrylate) primarily acted as a rigid filler and reinforced the matrix polymer, with the reinforcement behavior following the Guth–Gold equation. In addition, the glass transition temperature was maintained upon incorporation, indicating that the additive did not plasticize the polymer ...

Semi‐mechanistic population PK/PD model to aid clinical understanding of myelodysplastic syndromes following treatment with Venetoclax and Azacitidine

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 448-459, March 2025.
Abstract Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) represent a group of bone marrow disorders involving cytopenias, hypercellular bone marrow, and dysplastic hematopoietic progenitors. MDS remains a challenge to treat due to the complex interplay between disease‐induced and treatment‐related cytopenias.

Recurving tropical cyclones in the western North Pacific are stronger than non‐recurving ones: Causes and implications

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study investigates the statistical characteristics of recurving tropical cyclones (TCs) over the western North Pacific (WNP). We find that recurving TCs are, on average, 38% stronger than non‐recurving TCs, owing to longer ocean exposure, fewer landfalls, and passage through warmer, more favorable thermal environments.
