Effect of two-phase crosslinking network on properties of acrylate rubber/hydrogenated nitrile rubber vulcanizates

open access: yesHecheng xiangjiao gongye
The two-phase crosslinking network state of acrylate rubber(ACM)/hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) vulcanizates was regulated by adjusting the amount of TRA using trithiocyanuric acid (TCY)/tetrasulfide bispentamethylene thiuram (TRA) as vulcanization ...

Poly(Alkylene Ether)s With Nitrile Pendent Groups

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 13, Page 2745-2756, 1 July 2025.
Oxirane monomers were synthesized and polymerized using the Vanderberg initiator to obtain poly(alkylene ether) nitrile polymers. These polymers have a range of thermal properties and stabilities, providing potential alternatives to nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and hydrogenated NBR (HNBR).

Molecular Model for HNBR with Tunable Cross-Link Density

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a chemically inspired, all-atom model of hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) and assess its performance by computing the mass density and glass-transition temperature as a function of cross-link density in the structure.

Thermomechanical properties of zirconium tungstate/hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) composites for low-temperature applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Rubber compounds for pressure sealing application typically have inferior dimensional stability with temperature fluctuations compared with their steel counterparts.

Thermal aging behavior and lifetime prediction of industrial elastomeric compounds based on styrene–butadiene rubber

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, Volume 65, Issue 6, Page 3226-3246, June 2025.
Lifetime prediction of industrial elastomeric compounds. Abstract This work describes the thermal aging behavior of three industrial elastomeric compounds based on styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR) reinforced with carbon black. Samples were exposed to thermo‐oxidative aging at temperatures ranging from 70 to 120°C for durations between 14 and 365 days ...

Application of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy for Diagnostics in Fuel Cells, Electrolyzers, and Batteries

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 11, May 30, 2025.
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful tool for understanding electrochemical reactions in energy conversion systems, such as fuel cells, electrolyzers, and batteries. It is also effective for diagnosing degradation rates and estimating remaining lifetimes through nondestructive analysis.

Ageing of HNBR, EPDM and FKM O-rings

open access: yes, 2016
HNBR, EPDM and FKM O-rings were aged uncompressed and compressed at 75 °C, 100 °C, 125 °C and 150 °C for up to 1 year. HNBR exhibited the strongest ageing effects with high increases of hardness and glass transition temperature.

Toward Higher Energy Density All‐Solid‐State Batteries by Production of Freestanding Thin Solid Sulfidic Electrolyte Membranes in a Roll‐to‐Roll Process

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 19, May 20, 2025.
The scalable production of a thin, but mechanically stable, and still flexible argyrodite solid electrolyte membrane is presented. It is fabricated and laminated onto a supporting non‐woven fabric in a concerted step using a continuous, industrially relevant, solvent‐free, roll‐to‐roll process. With this approach, a promising energy density of 670 Wh L−

MWCNT reinforced hydrogen nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) nanocomposites

open access: yes, 2014
HNBR is well-known for its physical strength as well as its retention properties after long-term exposure to chemicals, heat, and oil. HNBR is the fastest growing specialty elastomer in the last decade.
