Up to 40% of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) cases are associated with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Clonal viral genomes can be found in the HL tumor cells, the Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg cells (HRS). The latent infection results in expression of the viral oncogenes LMP1 and LMP2A which contribute to generate the particular phenotype of the HRS cells.

Classical Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer that originates in lymph nodes. Little is known about its genetic susceptibility. Here, the authors combined existing and new genome-wide association studies to identify risk loci for classical Hodgkin lymphoma at ...

Human leukocyte antigens and genetic susceptibility to lymphoma [PDF]
Familial aggregation, coupled with ethnic variation in incidence, suggests that inherited susceptibility plays a role in the development of lymphoma, and the search for genetic risk factors has highlighted the contribution of the human leukocyte antigen (

CD47 Blockade by Hu5F9‐G4 and Rituximab in Non‐Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Background The Hu5F9‐G4 (hereafter, 5F9) antibody is a macrophage immune checkpoint inhibitor blocking CD47 that induces tumor‐cell phagocytosis. 5F9 synergizes with rituximab to eliminate B‐cell non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma cells by enhancing macrophage ...

Diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma in the modern era
The Hodgkin lymphomas are a family of unique lymphoma subtypes, in which the nature of the neoplastic cell was enigmatic for many years. Much of the mystery has been solved, with all forms now considered to be of B‐cell origin, in most cases of germinal ...

Origin and pathogenesis of nodular lymphocyte–predominant Hodgkin lymphoma as revealed by global gene expression analysis [PDF]
The pathogenesis of nodular lymphocyte–predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL) and its relationship to other lymphomas are largely unknown. This is partly because of the technical challenge of analyzing its rare neoplastic lymphocytic and histiocytic (L&H ...

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

An unusual case of late recurrent Hodgkin lymphoma presenting with soft tissue masses [PDF]
Hodgkin lymphoma remains primarily a nodal disease. Extranodal involvement in Hodgkin lymphoma is less common than that seen in non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In particular, extranodal Hodgkin lymphoma involving soft tissues is extremely rare. We report a case of
