A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).

Arc-arc collision caused the 2018 Eastern Iburi earthquake (M 6.7) in Hokkaido, Japan
Inland crustal earthquakes usually occur in the brittle upper crust (0–20 km depths), but the 6 September 2018 Eastern Iburi earthquake (M 6.7) took place in southern Hokkaido with a focal depth of ~37 km, causing 41 fatalities and serious damage to the ...

Root‐Stimulated Movements in Mimosa Pudica for Biohybrid Robotic Systems
This study demonstrates that thermal and electrical stimulation of Mimosa pudica root induces movement of the petiole and pinnules without direct stimulation of the aerial organs, thereby enabling a plant‐based robotic gripper and providing a foundation for the development of intelligent and sustainable systems.

Ion‐Gating Reservoir Computing for Preprocessing‐Free Speech Recognition from Throat Vibrations
This work presents a throat‐mounted mechanoelectric sensor integrated with an ion‐gel/graphene reservoir device for on‐device speech recognition. The system converts raw biomechanical vibrations into rich nonlinear current dynamics, enabling efficient classification through a simple linear readout. The approach highlights a compact and tunable physical‐
