Borosilicate Based Hollow-Core Optical Fibers [PDF]

open access: yesFibers, 2019
We discuss the fabrication of hollow-core optical fibers made of borosilicate glass. We show that, despite the high attenuation of the glass relative to silica, the fiber optical losses can be of the same order of magnitude of those obtained by using ...

Revolver Hollow Core Optical Fibers

open access: yesFibers, 2018
Revolver optical fibers (RF) are special type of hollow-core optical fibers with negative curvature of the core-cladding boundary and with cladding that is formed by a one ring layer of capillaries. The physical mechanisms contributing to the waveguiding

Analytical Formulas for Dispersion and Effective Area in Hollow-Core Tube Lattice Fibers

open access: yesFibers, 2021
In this work, we propose analytical formulas for the estimation of dispersion properties and effective area of the fundamental mode of hollow-core inhibited coupling fibers with a microstructured cladding composed by a ring of dielectric tubes.

Dual-core antiresonant hollow core fibers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
In this work, dual-core antiresonant hollow core fibers (AR-HCFs) are numerically demonstrated, based on our knowledge, for the first time. Two fiber structures are proposed. One is a composite of two single-core nested nodeless AR-HCFs, exhibiting low confinement loss and a circular mode profile in each core.

Tapered hollow-core photonic crystal fibers [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
In this communication, we will first review the recent advances of hollow-core photonic crystal fibers. Then, the possibility offered to tailor their optical properties by making tapers will be discussed.

Geometrical Scaling of Antiresonant Hollow-Core Fibers for Mid-Infrared Beam Delivery

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
We numerically investigate the effect of scaling two key structural parameters in antiresonant hollow-core fibers—dielectric wall thickness of the cladding elements and core size—in view of low-loss mid-infrared beam delivery.
