Science‐Towards‐Technology Breakthrough in CO2 Electroreduction: Multiphysics, Multiscale, and Artificial Intelligence Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical CO2RR is a key technology for converting CO2 into chemicals, but there remains a gap between “laboratory science” and “engineering practice” in current research. This review establishes a multi‐scale research framework, encompassing atomic‐level characterization, microenvironment regulation, external field‐assisted optimization, and AI ...

Ion-exchange hollow fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
An ion-exchange hollow fiber is prepared by introducing into the wall of the fiber polymerizable liquid monomers, and polymerizing the monomers therein to form solid, insoluble, cross-linked, ion-exchange resin particles which embed in the wall of the ...

Hydrogelation via Supramolecular Copolymerization of Structural Water within Adaptive Metal–Organic Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Structural water is harnessed as an active co‐monomer to drive supramolecular polymerization in bulk water. Zinc(II) Salphen complexes confine water molecules to form hollow, metal–organic nanofibers that assemble into adaptive hydrogels with thermoresponsive mechanics and selective chiral recognition.

Ceftaroline pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics in the hollow-fibre model of Mycobacterium abscessus lung disease

open access: yesIJTLD Open
BACKGROUND: Guideline-based therapy (GBT) of Mycobacterium abscessus (MAB) lung disease (LD) achieves a sputum culture conversion rate in ∼35% of patients. The β-lactam antibiotics, imipenem and cefoxitin, are the cornerstone of GBT.

Pinning quantum phase transition of photons in a hollow-core fiber

open access: yes, 2011
We show that a pinning quantum phase transition for photons could be observed in a hollow-core one-dimensional fiber loaded with a cold atomic gas. Utilizing the strong light confinement in the fiber, a range of different strongly correlated polaritonic ...
