Human hepatic cell behavior on polysulfone membrane with double porosity level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the membrane-based bioartificial livers developed up to now,the hepatic cells were located either in the fibers lumen or in the cartridge, with limited capacity for cell hosting. Here,we designed a polysulfone (PSU) membrane with a double porosity ...

Characterization of hollow-fiber membranes.

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OF JAPAN, 1994
Solute permeability and reflection coefficients (σ) through hollow-fiber membranes were measured for cellulose and poly(methyl metharrylate) (PMMA) membranes. The dialysis apparatus used was a U-type hollow fiber unit which was loosely bundled and set in a perfectly mixed reservoir with dialyzate flowing perpendicularly to the hollow fibers.
