This review summarizes recent progress in meta‐photonics with a focus on bound states in the continuum (BICs) as a powerful platform for light confinement and control. It covers fundamental concepts, design strategies across optical regimes, symmetry breaking for practical quasi‐BICs, tunable and AI‐assisted BIC devices, and emerging applications in ...

Compression of digital hologram sequences using MPEG-4 [PDF]
Recording and real time reconstruction of digital hologram sequences have recently become feasible. The amount of information that such hologram sequences contain results in voluminous data files, rendering their storage and transmission impractical ...

HoloForkNet: Digital Hologram Reconstruction via Multibranch Neural Network
Reconstruction of 3D scenes from digital holograms is an important task in different areas of science, such as biology, medicine, ecology, etc. A lot of parameters, such as the object’s shape, number, position, rate and density, can be extracted ...

Wavelength and Full‐Polarization Encrypted Orbital Angular Momentum Meta‐Holography
By multiplexing three independent degrees of freedom of light, a single‐layer geometric‐phase metasurface encrypts 24 distinct holographic images across 3 wavelengths, 12 pairs of orthogonal polarizations, and 4 OAM channels, taking advantage of axial chromatic dispersion to reconstruct the color images at the same plane. ABSTRACT Multiplexing multiple

Microwave holograms and microwave reconstruction
Microwave holographic reconstruction of the metal objects inside a purse was achieved by a nonscanning method. A microwave field was used for both constructing and reconstructing the holographic image. The visualisation of the microwave field was performed by both Polaroid and liquid-crystal techniques. The frequency used was 34.26GHz.

Grating‐Lens Empowered Metafiber for Large‐Angle Light Collection With 3D Nanoprinted Structures
A grating‐lens‐based Metafiber enables efficient light coupling into single‐mode fibers at large incidence angles. By combining diffraction and focusing on the fiber facet using a 3D nanoprinted holographic structure, light is selectively coupled only at specific angles while suppressing unwanted signals. This approach achieves high coupling efficiency

Reconstruction Depth Adaptive Coding of Digital Holograms
We propose an adaptive coding algorithm for digital hologram transmission based on server-client interaction. A client can visualize various images of 3D objects from a digital hologram, which are reconstructed on different depth planes. The client's requests for reconstruction depths are sent to the server.
