Arbitrary Orthogonal Polarization Decomposition and Routing With Complex Amplitude Modulation via Wheel‐of‐Fortune‐Inspired Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a receiver‐transmitter‐integrated metasurface that decomposes an incident wave into orthogonal components and routes them into separate channels. Inspired by a “Wheel‐of‐Fortune” mechanism, it enables independent control over the amplitude, phase, and polarization of the transmitted wave.

Holographic recording of fast events on a CCD camera [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report on holographic recording of nanosecond events on a conventional CCD camera. Three frames of an air-discharge event, with resolution of 5.9 ns and frame interval of 12 ns, are recorded in a single CCD frame.

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Deep-learning-assisted Hologram Calculation via Low-Sampling Holograms

open access: yes2019 8th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI), 2019
Digital holograms can be calculated by simulating light wave propagation on a computer. Hologram calculations are used for three-dimensional displays. However, the calculations take a long time, and the data size of the calculated holograms becomes large. This study presents a deep-learning-assisted hologram calculation using low-sampling holograms. We

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

Reviewing the Inclusion of Artists’ Holograms in the Permanent Collections of Fine Art Museums

open access: yesArts, 2019
Opening in 1976 with the exhibition, “Through the Looking Glass”, the Museum of Holography (MOH) emphasized from the beginning the importance of artistic holography with the inclusion of several holograms by artists whose primary practice was

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...
