Foveated holographic near-eye 3D display

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
We present a foveated rendering method to accelerate the amplitude-only computer-generated hologram (AO-CGH) calculation in a holographic near-eye 3D display. For a given target image, we compute a high-resolution foveal region and a low-resolution peripheral region with dramatically reduced pixel numbers.

Reducing speckle artifacts in digital holography through programmable filtration

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2019
We propose a speckle reduction technique in electronic holographic display systems, where digital micro‐mirror array devices are used as spatial light modulators.

Numerical investigation of lensless zoomable holographic multiple projections to tilted planes

open access: yes, 2014
This paper numerically investigates the feasibility of lensless zoomable holographic multiple projections to tilted planes. We have already developed lensless zoomable holographic single projection using scaled diffraction, which calculates diffraction ...

Digital Holographic Three-Dimensional Video Displays [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the IEEE, 2011
Holography aims to record and regenerate volume filling light fields to reproduce ghost-like 3-D images that are optically indistinguishable from their physical 3-D originals. Digital holographic video displays are pixelated devices on which digital holograms can be written at video rates.

Holographic Studies of Entanglement Entropy in Superconductors

open access: yes, 2012
We present the results of our studies of the entanglement entropy of a superconducting system described holographically as a fully back-reacted gravity system, with a stable ground state.

Ultrahigh-fidelity full-color holographic display via color-aware optimization

open access: yesPhotoniX
Holographic display offers the capability to generate high-quality images with a wide color gamut since it is laser-driven. However, many existing holographic display techniques fail to fully exploit this potential, primarily due to the system’s ...

Adiabatic corrections to holographic entanglement in thermofield doubles and confining ground states

open access: yes, 2016
We study entanglement in states of holographic CFTs defined by Euclidean path integrals over geometries with slowly varying metrics. In particular, our CFT spacetimes have $S^1$ fibers whose size $b$ varies along one direction ($x$) of an ${\mathbb R}^{d-

Holographic display of synthetic 3D dynamic scene [PDF]

open access: yes3D Research, 2010
A synthetic scene of real-word objects is obtained through the multiplexing of several digital holograms. Moreover, by an opportune numerical hologram deformation, it is possible to synthesize 3D dynamic scenes that can be displayed by means of a spatial light modulator.

Interferometers as Probes of Planckian Quantum Geometry

open access: yes, 2012
A theory of position of massive bodies is proposed that results in an observable quantum behavior of geometry at the Planck scale, $t_P$. Departures from classical world lines in flat spacetime are described by Planckian noncommuting operators for ...
