Scaling of Three-Dimensional Computer-Generated Holograms with Layer-Based Shifted Fresnel Diffraction

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Holographic three-dimensional (3D) displays can reconstruct a whole wavefront of a 3D scene and provide rich depth information for the human eyes. Computer-generated holographic techniques offer an efficient way for reconstructing holograms without ...

360-degree tabletop electronic holographic display

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
We demonstrate a tabletop holographic display system for simultaneously serving continuous parallax 3.2-inch 360-degree three-dimensional holographic image content to multiple observers at a 45-degree oblique viewing circumference. To achieve this, localized viewing windows are to be seamlessly generated on the 360-degree viewing circumference.

Advancing Machine Learning Optimization of Chiral Photonic Metasurface: Comparative Study of Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Two methods for the optimization of chiral reflection by a metamaterial made of either GaP/Air or PMMA/Air interfaces are compared, showing approaches towards fast design exploration and high‐performance results: a neural‐network pipeline and a genetic algorithm. The structures considered are characterized by a periodic, chiral texturation with a shape

High-Resolution Hogel Image Generation Using GPU Acceleration

open access: yesPhotonics
A holographic stereogram displays reconstructed 3D images by rearranging multiple 2D viewpoint images into small holographic pixels (hogels). However, conventional CPU-based hogel generation processes these images sequentially, causing computation times ...

Dynamic Multifunctional Metasurfaces Based on Passive Cascade Structure

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
A dynamic multifunctional metasurface is proposed in this paper. Unlike mainstream multifunctional metasurface based on programmable metasurfaces, it consists of two passive metasurfaces, presenting a significant cost advantage. By controlling the displacement, different functions such as beam steering, focusing, and OAM wave generation can be realized

Review of millimeter‐wave and terahertz near‐field synthetic aperture radar imaging technology

open access: yesInfoScience, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper comprehensively reviews the development of millimeter‐wave (MMW) and terahertz (THz) near‐field imaging technologies, with an emphasis on the state of synthetic aperture radar (SAR)‐based imaging technologies. Near‐field imaging technologies are categorized into passive and active imaging modes, among which active imaging is favored
