Waveguide‐Based Four‐Channel Crosstalk‐Free Metahologram Multiplexed by Diffraction Orders

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
A diffraction‐order‐multiplexed, four‐channel metahologram integrates a flat glass waveguide and an array of titanium dioxide nanopillars to realize crosstalk‐free holographic projection. Light undergoes total internal reflection within the waveguide and gets out‐coupled by diffraction from the nanopillar array.

Spectropolarimetric Holographic Multiplexing Metasurface With Super‐High Capacity Empowered by Mechanical Rotation

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Mechanically reconfigurable metasurfaces enable high‐capacity optical storage and holography due to low cost/complexity. A differentiable inverse design framework maps meta‐atom geometries to multichannel optical responses via deep neural networks. Rotatable cascaded metasurfaces optimized through this pipeline achieve pixel‐level holography with 288 ...

Terahertz Encryption With a Polarization‐Sensitive Metasurface

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
We propose a dual‐functional terahertz encryption metasurface that enables independent information retrieval in both the near field and the far field within a single device. In the near field, polarization‐selective amplitude modulation reveals textual patterns, whereas in the far field, phase engineering encodes multiple digital data in focal‐spot ...

Pixelated Laser with Tailored Emission Spectrum Photopatterned by Digital Holographic Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 17, 8 May 2026.
Azobenzene‐based surface‐relief gratings inscribed via DHM‐integrated holographic lithography enable programmable pixelated DFB laser architectures. This approach allows independent control of grating parameters across a 2D array, enabling spatially tailored emission spectra.

Octupolar AIEgens Photosensitizers With Enhanced Molar Absorptivity for Near‐Infrared Phototheranostics

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Symmetry‐guided molecular engineering transforms dipolar AIEgens into octupolar AIEgens (D(A)3) with enhanced NIR‐II absorptivity. The octupolar architecture activates additional S0→S2 transitions and promotes efficient intersystem crossing, leading to strong reactive oxygen species generation.

A Cross‐Layer Spatial–Spectral Optimization Framework for Hybrid Routing and Load‐Balanced Channel Allocation in Intelligent Networks

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Rapid 5G/6G evolution demands cross‐layer resource management to address congestion, latency, and reliability in multi‐hop wireless networks. This paper proposes a TOHRP–LBCA framework using DSA and congestion−/topology−/interference‐aware routing and channel allocation, yielding throughput gains, lower latency, improved packet delivery, and higher ...

Critical point drying of brain tissue for X‐ray phase‐contrast imaging

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 3, Page 759-768, May 2026.
X‐ray phase contrast tomography can efficiently image brain tissue at subcellular resolution. Critical point drying allows a gentle replacement of interstitial material by air, enhancing X‐ray phase contrast of the ultrastructural features.X‐ray phase‐contrast tomography can efficiently image brain tissue at subcellular resolution.
