Quinolizidine alkaloids inGenista acanthoclada and its holoparasite,Cuscuta palaestina

Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1993
About 20 quinolizidine alkaloids were identified inGenista acanthoclada by capillary GLC and GLC-MS, such as sparteine, 11,12-dehy-drosparteine, retamine,N-methylcytisine, cytisine, 17-oxosparteine, lupanine,α-isolupanine, 5,6-dehydrolupanine, 10-oxosparteine,N-carbomethoxycytisine, 17-oxoretamine,N-formylcytisine,N-acetylcytisine, and anagyrine.

Structural analyses of plastid-derived 16S rRNAs in holoparasitic angiosperms

Plant Molecular Biology, 1997
Higher-order structures have been constructed for plastid-encoded small-subunit (SSU, 16S), rRNAs from representatives of seven nonphotosynthetic holoparasitic angiosperm families: Apodanthaceae, Cynomoriaceae, Cytinaceae, Balanophoraceae, Hydnoraceae, Mitrastemonaceae, and Rafflesiaceae.

On the Brink of Holoparasitism: Plastome Evolution in Dwarf Mistletoes (Arceuthobium, Viscaceae)

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2009
Chloroplast sequences spanning rps7 to 23S rDNA in Arceuthobium campylopodum and A. pendens were generated and compared to Arabidopsis and seven other parasitic plants. Pseudogenes for trnV, trnI (GAU), and trnA (UGC) were seen in both Arceuthobium species, paralleling the situation in the holoparasite Epifagus (Orobanchaceae).

Germination ecology of the holoparasite Cuscuta epithymum

Seed Science Research, 2008
Abstract Little is known about the seed ecology of annual holoparasites, such as Cuscuta (dodders), and how germination is timed to occur when seedlings can attach to a host. Seeds of Cuscuta epithymum, which is a rare and often threatened species in dry heaths of north-western Europe, were water-impermeable (physically dormant) at maturity in late ...

Phylogeny of holoparasitic Orobanche (Orobanchaceae) inferred from nuclear ITS sequences

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2004
Orobanche is the largest genus among the holoparasitic members of Orobanchaceae. We present the first molecular phylogenetic analysis (using nuclear ITS sequences) that includes members of all sections of Orobanche, Gymnocaulis, Myzorrhiza, Trionychon, and Orobanche.

[Determination of trace elements in holoparasitism Cistanche tubulosa].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015
The trace elements in Chinese herbal medicines are important nutritional elements for human health. Application of ICP-AES was applied to detect Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and Mg of the different parts and size grading on growth of Cistanche tubulosa. The results showed that there were comparatively rich trace elements in Cistanche tubulosa, and the trace elements

Holoparasitic and hemiparasitic cormophytes in flora of Croatia

1996
