Kernels Are Not Accurate Estimators of Home-range Size for Herpetofauna
Kernel home-range estimators are becoming more widely used to determine the home-range size for herpetofauna, despite the problems associated with selecting the appropriate smoothing factor. We used simulations to demonstrate the inconsistency of kernel estimators at determining the home-range size of random distributions.

The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

The ranging behaviour of Tyto alba in oil palm under baiting with anticoagulant rodenticides, warfarin and brodifacoum and a biorodenticide Sarcocystis singaporensis (Zaman & Colley, 1975) [PDF]
This study investigated the ranging behaviour of Tyto alba in oil palm under three different rodenticide applications. For this purpose, four treatment plots were established in the FELCRA oil palm plantation in Seberang Perak.

Living on the edge: Space use of Eurasian red squirrels in marginal high-elevation habitat. [PDF]
In marginal habitats located at the edge of a species\u2019 range, environmental conditions are frequently extreme and individuals may be subject to different selective pressures compared to central populations.

ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Household Size, Home Health Care, and Medical Expenditures [PDF]
We document a robust negative correlation in which residing in a larger family is associated with lower consumption of medical care ceteris paribus.

Home range dynamics of mountain hares (Lepus timidus) in the Swiss Alps. [PDF]
Little is known on the ecology and behaviour of the alpine mountain hare (Lepus timidus). Between 1996 and 1997, we analysed by radiotracking the pattern of space use of 8 mountain hares from the Swiss Alps.
