A Comparison of Homing Behavior in Feral and Homing Pigeons

Zeitschrift für Tierpsychologie, 2010
Three series of experiments were conducted to determine whether the orientational and homing behavior of feral pigeons ("Commons") in the U.S.A. is comparable to that of homing pigeons. Wild-caught adult and juvenile Commons showed meaningful nonrandom orientation when released at unfamiliar sites.

Behavior Coordination Mechanism for Intelligent Home

5th IEEE/ACIS International Conference on Computer and Information Science and 1st IEEE/ACIS International Workshop on Component-Based Software Engineering,Software Architecture and Reuse (ICIS-COMSAR'06), 2006
Ubiquitous computing technology has brought high availabilities of network environments. At the same time, it has become a prerequisite for providing appropriate services in accordance with user contexts. For the context–aware services, there have been a wide variety of task applications, but coordination among tasks is still a major issue.

Smart home user's behavior prediction

2013 IEEE Third International Conference on Consumer Electronics ¿ Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2013
Modern Smart Home solutions can be generally classified as sensor-based or user-directive based. Prediction of the User Behavior is a very promising approach because it improves usability of Smart Home devices critical for their future expansion. It requires an effective enough, cheap, flexible, and easy implemented algorithms.

Behavior-based assistive robotics for the home

2001 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. e-Systems and e-Man for Cybernetics in Cyberspace (Cat.No.01CH37236), 2002
This paper presents ongoing research on assistive service robotics for health-care and home applications. The whole control system is based on a behavior-based architecture that integrates reactive behavior into a task driven structure. Efficient and natural robot communications are promoted by employing the user's perceived object color names.

Identification of inactivity behavior in Smart Home

2008 30th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2008
To help elderly people live independently at home, the TIMC-IMAG laboratory developed Health Smart Homes called 'HIS'. These smart Homes are composed of several sensors to monitor the activities of daily living of the patients. Volunteers have accepted to be monitored during 2 years in their own flats.
