Diffusion in Relatively Homogeneous Sand Columns: A Scale-Dependent or Scale-Independent Process?
Solute transport through homogeneous media has long been assumed to be scale-independent and can be quantified by the second-order advection-dispersion equation (ADE). This study, however, observed the opposite in the laboratory, where transport of CuSO4

Objective Autoimmune rheumatic diseases commonly affect individuals of childbearing age, with historically increased adverse pregnancy outcomes in this group. The advent of disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) has fostered more suitable conditions for pregnancy; however, this is accompanied by challenges in ensuring safe use in reproductive ...

A Self-Adaptive Discrete PSO Algorithm with Heterogeneous Parameter Values for Dynamic TSP
This paper presents a discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm with heterogeneous (non-uniform) parameter values for solving the dynamic traveling salesman problem (DTSP). The DTSP can be modeled as a sequence of static sub-problems, each of

AbstractHomogenization of deterministic control problems with L∞ running cost is studied by viscosity solutions techniques. It is proved that the value function of an L∞ problem in a medium with a periodic micro-structure converges uniformly on the compact sets to the value function of the homogenized problem as the period shrinks to 0.

Objective Cognitive impairment (CI) is common in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Despite its prevalence, the immune mechanisms are not well understood. We previously reported elevated serum levels of S100A8/A9 and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP‐9) in patients with SLE and CI.

The modern algebraic treatment of geometry in projective spaces focuses attention on the properties of homogeneous ideals in polynomial and power-series rings. This inevitably raises questions concerning how far ordinary ideal theory needs to be modified if only homogeneous ideals are to be regarded as significant.

Objective Lupus low disease activity state (LLDAS) is a validated treatment target in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) but limited studies have explored the role of LLDAS in lupus nephritis (LN). This study aims to investigate the frequency and predictors of LLDAS attainment, and its benefit on LN relapse and renal function preservation in patients ...

Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution by tris-dithiolene tungsten complexes
Herein, we report on the homogeneous photocatalytic evolution of hydrogen by using as reductive catalysts the prismatic symmetric tris – dithiolene complexes of the tungsten, namely [W{S2C2(Ph)2}3] (1) and its monoanion [W{S2C2(Ph)2}3](TBA) (2).
