Pattern classes of permutations via bijections between linearly ordered sets

open access: yes, 2008
A pattern class is a set of permutations closed under pattern involvement or, equivalently, defined by certain subsequence avoidance conditions. Any pattern class X which is atomic, i.e.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A note on a one-parameter family of non-symmetric number triangles [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2012
The recent growing interest in special Clifford algebra valued polynomial solutions of generalized Cauchy-Riemann systems in \((n + 1)\)-dimensional Euclidean spaces suggested a detailed study of the arithmetical properties of their coefficients, due to ...

Homogeneous nucleation in polyethylene: Molecular weight dependence

open access: yes, 1975
The droplet technique was used to obtain estimates of the isothermal rate of homogeneous crystal nucleation in highly supercooled melts of 8 characterized fractions of linear polyethylene (weight average molecular weights from 3,100 to 249,000). The data

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Homogenization of time-fractional diffusion equations with periodic coefficients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computational Physics, 2020
We consider the initial boundary value problem for the time-fractional diffusion equation with a homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and an inhomogeneous initial data $a(x)\in L^{2}(D)$ in a bounded domain $D\subset \mathbb{R}^d$ with a sufficiently smooth boundary.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Single X-ray Projection Material Decomposition using a Mesh Projector

open access: yese-Journal of Nondestructive Testing
This study presents a method for estimating the mass fractions of chemical elements in an object, which is modeled as a homogeneous mixture, using a single X-ray radiograph and its surface mesh.
