Modulation of turbulence by finite-size particles in statistically steady-state homogeneous shear turbulence [PDF]
We perform interface-resolved simulations to study the modulation of statistically steady-state homogeneous shear turbulence by neutrally buoyant finite-size particles.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

ELECTROPHORETIC SYSTEM FOR EXPRESS ANALYSIS OF WHEY PROTEIN FRACTIONS
Fractional specificity of biological action and ability to form bioactive peptides, which have a positive effect on different physiological systems of the body in the processes of proteolysis and digestion, are characteristic for whey proteins. Prospects

Storage protein profile and amino acid content in wild rice Oryza glumaepatula
- The objective of this work was to determine the total protein profile and the contents of the four major protein fractions (albumin, globulin, prolamin and glutelin) and of the amino acids in the endosperm of the rice wild species Oryza glumaepatula ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Subcellular Fractionation of Mouse Brain Homogenates
This subcellular fractionation protocol is used for separation of cellular organelles based on their density. We have designed and optimized the protocol for separation of subcellular compartments of brain homogenates with focus on the localization and trafficking of transmembrane proteins, but we have also successfully used this protocol for ...

The centre of quantum sl_n at a root of unity
It is proved that the centre Z of the simply connected quantised universal enveloping algebra over C, U_{?,P}(sl_n), ? a primitive l-th root of unity, l an odd integer >1, has a rational field of fractions.
