Homogeneous Structures and Homogeneous Geodesics of the Hyperbolic Oscillator Group

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we study some homogeneity properties of a semi-direct extension of the Heisenberg group, known in literature as the hyperbolic oscillator (or Boidol) group, equipped with the left-invariant metrics corresponding to the ones of the oscillator group.

Type I Almost-Homogeneous Manifolds of Cohomogeneity One—IV

open access: yesAxioms, 2018
This paper is one of a series in which we generalize our earlier results on the equivalence of existence of Calabi extremal metrics to the geodesic stability for any type I compact complex almost homogeneous manifolds of cohomogeneity one. In this paper,

Homogeneous Randers spaces admitting just two homogeneous geodesics [PDF]

open access: yesArchivum Mathematicum, 2019
In the present paper the author considers the problem about the number of homogeneous geodesics on a homogeneous Finsler manifold. A geodesic in a homogeneous manifold is called homogeneous geodesic if it is an orbit of a one-parameter group of isometries.

Healthy core: Harmonizing brain MRI for supporting multicenter migraine classification studies.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Multicenter and multi-scanner imaging studies may be necessary to ensure sufficiently large sample sizes for developing accurate predictive models. However, multicenter studies, incorporating varying research participant characteristics, MRI scanners ...

The Existence of Two Homogeneous Geodesics in Finsler Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
The existence of a homogeneous geodesic in homogeneous Finsler manifolds was positively answered in previous papers. However, the result is not optimal. In the present paper, this result is refined and the existence of at least two homogeneous geodesics in any homogeneous Finsler manifold is proved.

Variograms across spatial scales using graph geodesics and diffusion distances in heterogeneous permeability fields

open access: yesDiscover Geoscience
Classical variogram analysis groups squared increments by Euclidean separation. This choice is natural in homogeneous or approximately isotropic domains, but it can be misleading in heterogeneous permeability fields where physical coupling is controlled ...

Stability of evolving cluster of stars and exotic matter

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
This paper discusses the phenomenon of evolving spherically symmetric cluster of stars in the presence of an exotic matter. To discuss evolutionary mechanism, we use the Starobinsky model of f(R) gravity as exotic matter and the structure scalars as ...

Methods for Controlling Electrostatic Discharge and Electromagnetic Interference in Materials

open access: yesFoundations
Methods for controlling electromagnetic fields in materials are presented that mitigate effects such as electrostatic discharge and electromagnetic/radio frequency interference.

A Recursive Scheme of First Integrals of the Geodesic Flow of a Finsler Manifold

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
We review properties of so-called special conformal Killing tensors on a Riemannian manifold $(Q,g)$ and the way they give rise to a Poisson-Nijenhuis structure on the tangent bundle $TQ$.

Cross-modality mapping using image varifolds to align tissue-scale atlases to molecular-scale measures with application to 2D brain sections

open access: yesNature Communications
This paper explicates a solution to building correspondences between molecular-scale transcriptomics and tissue-scale atlases. This problem arises in atlas construction and cross-specimen/technology alignment where specimens per emerging technology ...
