Homothetic transformations and geometric loci: properties of triangles and quadrilaterals

open access: closedInternational Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, 2016
In this paper, we use geometric transformations to find some interesting properties related with geometric loci. In particular, given a triangle or a cyclic quadrilateral, the locus generated by the centroid or by the orthocentre (for triangles) or by the anticentre (for cyclic quadrilaterals) when one vertex moves on the circumcircle of the figure are

Corrections to “Analytic Design Method Based on Homothetic Shape of Magnetic Cores for High-Frequency Transformers” [Sep 07 2070-2080]

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2008
In the above titled paper (ibid., vol. 22, no. 5, pp. 2070-2080, Sep 07), an incorrect subscript was inadvertently shown throughout the article. The correct subscript is provided and the area where it should be displayed are identified.

Canonical connections on paracontact manifolds

, 2007
The canonical paracontact connection is defined and it is shown that its torsion is the obstruction the paracontact manifold to be paraSasakian. A $${\mathcal{D}}$$ -homothetic transformation is determined as a special gauge transformation.

\({\mathcal D}\)-homothetic transformations for a generalization of contact metric manifolds

2007
Curvature properties of some generalizations of contact metric manifolds are studied. In particular, some results on so-called almost \(S\)-manifolds are obtained. The main result is the following: Theorem. Let \(Z= (M^{2n+s},\varphi, \xi, \eta,g)\) be an almost \(S\)-manifold and \((\widetilde\varphi, \widetilde\xi, \widetilde\eta, \widetilde g)\) an ...

THE ESSENCE OF HOMOTHETIC TRANSFORMATION METHOD

The homothetic transformation method represents a powerful geometric technique for solving construction problems in mathematics. This approach involves identifying the shape of a required figure before determining its size, effectively using dilations and contractions around a fixed point to transform reference figures into desired solutions.
