Anacanthorus silvoi n. sp. (Dactylogyridae, Anacanthorinae) is described from the gills of Hoplias aff. malabaricus (Bloch, 1794) from the Salgado River, Ceará state, Brazil.The monogeneans were affixed onto slides using Gray and Wess's medium for examination of their sclerotized structures.
