ABSTRACT Food security in Kerala depends on effective irrigation, but poor‐quality irrigation water poses threats such as salinity, sodicity and reduced soil productivity. Although past assessments have been localised, this study presents the first comprehensive, statewide evaluation of irrigation water suitability across 44 major rivers in Kerala.

The IceShark, an effective method for sampling plankton under sea ice
Abstract Seasonal sea ice plays a crucial role in shaping coastal ecosystem dynamics throughout the circumpolar region. Of particular interest to oceanographers is the ice‐ocean interface which functions as a multidimensional habitat, supporting both sympagic algae and pelagic phytoplankton in the under‐ice surface waters.

Reprogrammable All‐Photonic Molecular Logic With Ln3+ Luminescent Hybrids in Solid State
Mario P. de‐Saralegui et al. report an Eu3⁺/Tb3⁺‐doped organic–inorganic hybrid material that enables multiple reprogrammable logic operations using only physical stimuli. Additionally, this solid‐state, all‐photonic platform represents the first example in the literature performing reversible Feynman logic operations, marking a major step toward ...

Heat and Moisture Conduction in Unsaturated Soils [PDF]
Mathematical models are developed for the prediction of heat transfer from hot water pipes buried in the soil. Heat transfer in the absence of moisture transfer is described as a function of the difference between the temperature of the pipe and the ...

Particle transport in turbulent curved pipe flow
Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of particle-laden turbulent flow in straight, mildly curved and strongly bent pipes are performed in which the solid phase is modelled as small heavy spherical particles. A total of seven populations of dilute particles

ABSTRACT Understanding the dynamic behavior of structural components is crucial for optimizing performance and ensuring structural integrity. This study presents a new method that combines a systematic experimental investigation of four distinct hole geometries (circular, square, compact rectangular, and long rectangular) with varying hole counts, all ...

ABSTRACT We present the first x‐ray crystallographic structural evidence of an archaeal DNA ligase showing the AMP covalent adduct together with further cofactor hydrolysis, capturing a transient intermediary in the first step of the ligation reaction, triggered by the pyrophosphate hydrolysis.

Subterranean Mine Inspection Using the Prometheus Re‐Configurable Drone
ABSTRACT This paper describes the design, development, and real‐world testing of an autonomous drone for subterranean exploration, known as “Prometheus.” Driven by requirements from industry that the drone be able to be deployed through areas of restricted access, Prometheus was designed to be directly deployed through a 150 mm aperture.
