Comorbid Cupulolithiasis Is Rare in Patients With Horizontal Semicircular Canal Canalolithiasis
Otology & Neurotology, 2020Objectives: Considering that otolith particles pass through the canal until attaching to the cupula in the canal-side horizontal semicircular canal (HSCC) cupulolithiasis, comorbidity of HSCC canalolithiasis and cupulolithiasis may occur.

The response of horizontal semicircular canal afferents to sinusoidal rotation in the cat
Experimental Brain Research, 1978Dynamic characteristics of primary vestibular afferents innervating the horizontal semicircular canal were studied in decerebrate, unanesthetized cats. Activities of individual afferent fibers were recorded intracranially by glass micropipettes. Frequency of sinusoidal rotation was varied from 0.014 Hz to 0.42 Hz, and phase and gain properties were ...

[Symmetry of the horizontal semicircular canal of the labyrinth].
Bulletin de l'Association des anatomistes, 1987Out of 30 adult human craniums and with a portable tomograph (vestibulograph) allowing 5 degrees of liberty (2 rotations and 3 translocations), a "medio-labyrinthic" plane was determined from the two "vestibions" put in the main X rays axis. Under those requirements, the lateral ductus becomes constantly visible on the cranian teleradiographies and the

We imaged the horizontal semicircular canal (HSCC) crista and cupula of toadfish, Opsanus tau, by using a) confocal light microscopy of isolated vital HSCC; b) serial sections of fixed, trichrome-stained HSCC; and c) scanning electron microscopy of fixed HSCCs. HSCC were dissections which included an ampulla and an attached canal tube (long and slender

The development of function of horizontal semicircular canal primary neurons in the rat
Brain Research, 1979The activity of primary horizontal semicircular canal neurons in newborn rats was compared to similar cells in adults. All animals were anesthetized with ether. Neurons were categorized as regular or irregular on the basis of their spontaneous activity. Horizontal semicircular canal neurons can respond to angular acceleration stimulation at birth.

The Threshold Value for Stimulation of the Horizontal Semicircular Canals
1970Vestibular threshold values are the smallest specific stimulations able to create a vestibular sensation or a vestibular reflex under certain, well defined conditions.

[Diagnosis and therapy for horizontal semicircular canal cupulolithiasis].
Lin chuang er bi yan hou tou jing wai ke za zhi = Journal of clinical otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery, 2015By analysing the video-nystagmography findings of positional tests,to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the patients with horikontal semicircular canal cupulolithiasis (HSC-Cup).A retrospective study of 36 patients with HSC-Cup. The induced nystagmus in roll tests was recorded by videonystagmography, whose direction, latency, intensity and time ...

[Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo of the horizontal semicircular canal].
Acta otorrinolaringologica espanola, 2007Assesment of 8 new cases of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo of the horizontal semicircular canal (BPPV-HC), since this variant of benign positional vertigo occurs rarely. An oculographic study of features in the positional response was carried out.
