Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

The Role of Sex Hormones in Inducing Maternal Uterine Remodeling and Vasodilation During Pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Uterine vascular adaptations such as vessel growth and vasodilation are needed to facilitate the more than 10-fold increase of uteroplacental blood flow (UPBF) during pregnancy.

Treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in elderly patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer from the registHER observational study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Limited data exist regarding treatment patterns and outcomes in elderly patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC). registHER is an observational study of patients (N = 1,001) with HER2-positive MBC diagnosed within 6 months of enrollment

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Clinical, Hormonal and Genetics Features in patients with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome in Cytogenetic Laboratories in Semarang [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is an X-linked disorder caused by impaired Androgen Receptor (AR) which is encoded in Xq 11-12. In this condition, although the androgen is produced sufficiently, but the peripheral masculinizing effect is blocked ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
