Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Bioactive conductive Ti3C2Tx‐Ce hydrogels with with scavenging ROS and alleviating neuronal mitochondrial dysfunction are exploited for SCI treatment. This functionality is attributed to interfacial activation modification of Ti3C2Tx with Ce3+ ions to in‐situ form Ce(OH)x‐mediated protective layer, which is beneficial to enabling stable intracellular ...

A Novel Decellularized Fibrocartilage Graft Promotes Tympanic Membrane Repair
An off‐the‐shelf decellularized porcine meniscus fibrocartilage graft (MEND) is engineered for pediatric tympanoplasty. Featuring a microchannel architecture that promotes host cell invasion, MEND rapidly closes tympanic membrane perforations and fully remodels in vivo, outperforming fascia and matching cartilage grafts while avoiding donor‐site ...

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

The transfer of symbols and meanings: the case of the ‘horns of consecration’
Sir Arthur Evans first used the term “horns of consecration” in 1901. Since then they have been interpreted in various ways as Moon idols (Mondidole), boat models, pot stands, loom stands, spit supports, and fire supports.

A synthetic protocol for fabricating high‐entropy rare earth perovskite oxides with abundant lattice distortions and oxygen vacancies has been developed, representing an emerging platform for anchoring RuO2. High entropy strategy significantly modulated the electronic structures and spin states, inducing a shift in the mechanism from the adsorption ...

Optimisation of an ultrasonic drill horn for planetary subsurface sample retrieval [PDF]
Ultrasonic tools can cut through foodstuffs, biological material and other soft matter with relative ease. However, when attempts are made to cut through harder material, the rate of progress markedly declines.

In this research, a simple and scalable strategy for protection of a few‐layer black phosphorus (FLBP) with a cellulose nitrate‐based material is presented. The FLBP is structurally and morphologically characterized. The FLBP stability with and without nitrocellulose protection is monitored by interferometric method, surface profile examination, and ...
