Nephroblastoma in horseshoe kidney

A case of nephroblastoma arising in a horseshoe kidney is reported. Clinically a bilateral nephroblastoma was suspected. Pre-operative diagnosis of horseshoe kidney, once a mass has arisen, may be difficult even with radiological investigation.

Oncocytoma in a Horseshoe Kidney

Renal oncocytoma is an unusual tumor that has been identified with increasing frequency during the last decade, and more than 150 cases have been reported in the literature, including multifocal and bilateral tumors. Teratoma in horseshoe kidneys

Renal tumors are uncommon, but they are significantly increased in horseshoe kidneys. Although nephroblastomas frequently occur in horseshoe kidneys of children, no teratoma has been observed in the past. A teratoma in the horseshoe kidney of a child with unusual congenital anomalies is described.

Malignancy in Horseshoe Kidney

We have reported two cases of adenocarcinoma in a horseshoe kidney and their successful surgical treatment. Review of the literature suggests that transitional cell carcinoma and Wilms' tumor are seen more often than adenocarcinoma in horseshoe kidneys.
