The Hosoya polynomial of distance-regular graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 2014
10.1016/j.dam.2014.06.018In this note we obtain an explicit formula for the Hosoya polynomial of any distance-regular graph in terms of its intersection array.

The Hosoya polynomial decomposition for catacondensed benzenoid graphs [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 2008
For a graph G with the vertex set V(G), we denote by d(u,v) the distance between vertices u and v in G, by d(u) the degree of vertex u. The Hosoya polynomial of G is H(G)=∑{u,v}⊆V(G)xd(u,v).

On the roots of Hosoya polynomial

Journal of Discrete Mathematical Sciences and Cryptography, 2016
AbstractLet G=(V, E) be a simple and a connected graph of diameter D. The Hosoya polynomial of G. is , where d(G, k)≥1, is the number of vertex pairs at distance k. The Wiener index of G is the first derivative of the Hosoya polynomial H(G, x) at x = 1. In this paper, we study the Hosoya polynomial and Wiener index of some family of graphs.

Hosoya Polynomial for Subdivided Caterpillar Graphs

Combinatorial Chemistry & High Throughput Screening, 2022
Background: Computing Hosoya polynomial for the graph associated with the chemical compound plays a vital role in the field of chemistry. From Hosoya polynomial, it is easy to compute Weiner index(Weiner number) and Hyper Weiner index of the underlying molecular structure.

Numerical solution of Volterra–Fredholm integral equations with Hosoya polynomials

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2021
In this study, Volterra-Fredholm integral equation is solved by Hosoya Polynomials. The solutions obtained with these methods were compared on the figure and table. And error analysis was done. Matlab programming language has been used to obtain conclusitions, tables and error analysis within a certain algorithm.

The edge-Hosoya polynomial of benzenoid chains [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Chemistry, 2018
The Hosoya polynomial is a well known vertex-distance based polynomial, closely correlated to the Wiener index and the hyper-Wiener index, which are widely used molecular-structure descriptors. In the present paper we consider the edge version of the Hosoya polynomial.
