Perspectives in the treatment of hospital wastewater
2014During recent years, the issue of hazardous substances in wastewater has become a major concern with respect to both human health and environment. This has lead to the launch of several studies into the monitoring of urban wastewaters (UWs). However, few of them have yet been devoted to the monitoring of hospital wastewater (HWs) in terms of either ...

Treatment and treatability of hospital wastewaters.
2009In the last years, increasing attention has been paid to the presence of emerging pollutants in wastewaters, surface waters and groundwaters (Daughton and Ternes, 1999; Heberer 2002, Barcelò 2003, Daughton 2004). Emerging contaminants correspond in most cases to unregulated pollutants, which may be candidate for future regulation depending on research

Ozonation for degradation of pharmaceutical in hospital wastewater
2015There is an increasing concern about hospital wastewater as a point source of chemical pollution to municipal wastewater. Thus in Denmark a project with focus ion cleaning point source at hospitals was established. Pilot scale Moving-Bed-Biofilm-Reactors (MBBR) in stages were used to treat wastewater from a hospital followed by ozonation.
